Incorporating classic symbols with their meanings is a great way to make t-shirts, logos, and graphical elements on greeting cards, etc.

You can create products by manipulating and compiling several illustrations done by other artists. My example is shown above. A christmas card using a free font from fontface.com and copyright free illustrations from clipart.com. Some illustrations were faded and blurred. Others mix with the font to clearly read, HO HO HO.

Creating a logo with a font

This logo was created from a free font downloaded at www.fontface.com. Check out their site... I will provide a permanent link in the blog template.

Butterflies

I masked several different butterflies out of photos and made them into a collage of specimens.

A Photo Manipulation.

I merged a photo of a tree with gnarly roots with a colorful photo of a green lizard to make one photo. The background was desaturated around a masked lizard to get the spot color enhancement.

Here are some photos I took last summer at the Baton Rouge Hot Air Balloon Festival. I applied a watercolor filter in Photoshop to some of them shown here.

I need an outlet for creative projects and art ideas. This is my challenge.... to make this year a year of really doing the stuff.

I guess I can start with stuff I've already created.
